Another new addition to the Scarva catalgoue is the beautiful range of Porcelain Crackle Glazes. These glazes were delveloped in the Scarva lab after ever increasing demand for crackle glazes especially for Porcelain bodies. They are available in both powder and brush-on and we recommend 2-3 coats. After firing the crackle should be given time to develop, usually around 48 hours is a good estimate. To further enhance the crackle, Indian ink or very strong tea can be applied over the glaze to highlight the crazing. Please be aware that due to the nature of crackle glazes they are not suitable for use on dinnerware.

Settles very fast
The glaze settles very fast so you have to make sure to continuously mix it. The pink colour which is produced is also more of a barbie pink and not a subtle blush as shown in the image. But the crackles kinda work. Im firing on porcelain at cone 6

Hi Scarva team, could you please share what should be the firing scheme in order to achieve the desired result displayed on the picture. Thanks, Milena

Hi, 100 degC/hour to Orton cone 8 (on most controllers this is 1220-1230) with a 10 minute soak. Hope this helps.
